We have a window of opportunity in which to make a global scientific discovery, position Britain for the emerging lunar economy, and help shape the regulation of space in the best traditions of the Antarctic Treaty System. Our unique technology will allow us to search for water ice from a much smaller platform than our competitors, while a deliberate connection with the heroic age of polar exploration will bring the expedition, and its purpose, to a wider public.
We will boost national morale, demonstrate British technological capability, help protect the lunar environment, and inspire new careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
